Named care plans beat vague retainers
Why Elliott Digital sells Basic Care, Care + Content, and Growth + Automation Support instead of a round monthly number with no work attached.
Most maintenance plans hide the work. You pay a round number and hope someone is actually looking at the site. That model is easy to sell and hard to defend when a form breaks on a Sunday or the copy from launch week is still wrong in month three.
Name the plan, name the work
We sell three care plans with jobs attached. Basic Care is $149 / month for hosting, backups, uptime, and minor monthly edits. Care + Content is $299 when you need publishing support, new pages, and a monthly performance check. Growth + Automation Support starts at $750 when the site is tied to booking, CRM, SMS, or a chatbot that needs watching.
Packages name the pages, not fog
Website packages include a named page count: Presence up to 3, Starter up to 5, Business up to 10. Booking, checkout, calculators, extra pages, and portals are quoted against the request. Page counts live on the packages page so nobody has to ask in a discovery call.
What the month is for
Care plans exist for the edits that always show up after launch: copy swaps, photo updates, a seasonal landing page, a form field, a redirect, a finish name on a shop. Extra work past the plan is quoted before it starts. That keeps the month honest and stops a backlog from turning into a surprise invoice later.
Already have a site?
If you already have a site and only need this model, the same three care plans can sit on it after we see the stack. No new build required. If the stack is a mess, we will say so and quote a rebuild instead of pretending a care plan can paper over bad foundations.
How requests actually move
You send a shared list. Named edits go through the care plan first. If the scope grows, we pause and quote. Unused work does not roll over. Each month is a fresh window on purpose, so the monthly number stays the monthly number.
Vague retainers feel soft until something breaks. A named plan is stricter and clearer. That is the trade we prefer to make with clients who want the site to keep moving after launch day.
